أُرَاجِعُ الْوُضُوءَ وَالصَّلَاةَ

Well done! You have learned to purify yourself and to pray like the Prophet ﷺ. Let's review everything together.

🚿 Wudu, in order: intention and Bismillaah → hands → mouth → nose → face → arms → head → ears → feet → "Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa llaah…"

🛑 It is broken by: the toilet, wind, deep sleep, fainting. Doubt breaks nothing.

✋ Before praying, the five checks: wudu, cleanliness, clothes, qibla, time. Then the intention.

🕌 The prayer, step by step: 1. "Allaahu akbar", raising the hands. 2. Standing: the Fatiha (+ a surah in the first two rak'as), "aamiin". 3. Rukuu': "Subḥaana rabbiya l-'aẓiim" ×3. 4. Standing: "Sami'a llaahu liman ḥamidah, rabbanaa wa laka l-ḥamd". 5. Sujuud: "Subḥaana rabbiya l-a'laa" ×3. 6. Sitting: "Rabbi ghfir lii". 7. Second sujuud. 8. Sitting at the end: tashahhud, prayer on the Prophet ﷺ. 9. Salaam to the right and to the left.

🔢 The rak'as: Fajr 2, Dhuhr 4, 'Asr 4, Maghrib 3, 'Isha 4.

🤝 At the mosque: right foot, two rak'as of greeting, straight rows, follow the imam, left foot when leaving.

After the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ would say "Astaghfirullaah" (I ask Allah's forgiveness) three times, then: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ allaahumma anta s-salaamu wa minka s-salaam, tabaarakta yaa dha l-jalaali wa l-ikraam: "O Allah, You are Peace and peace comes from You; blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and generosity." (Muslim 591)

My challenge for the week: every day, I make at least one complete prayer with my family. I tick it on my prayer wheel!

Understanding the lesson

Explanation Everything you have learned forms a path: cleanliness prepares wudu, wudu prepares the prayer, and the prayer puts you before Allah five times a day. Nobody prays perfectly the first time. The companions learned by watching the Prophet ﷺ; you learn by watching your parents and the imam, and by practising every day. Allah loves regular deeds, even small ones (Bukhari 6464, Muslim 783 [À VÉRIFIER : numéros]). On the Day of Judgement, the first thing we will be asked about is the prayer (Abu Dawud 864, Tirmidhi 413 [À VÉRIFIER : numéros]). That is why we take care of it from a young age.

Lessons to draw from it • I go over the steps in my head before praying, until I know them by heart. • I pray a little every day, with my family. • When I do not know, I ask my parents or the imam.
