الوحدة: الهدف: قلب سليم
Worshipping Allah as if you see Him.
In the hadith of Jibril, the angel asked about Islam, iman and then ihsan. The Prophet ﷺ answered: "Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then know that He sees you" (Muslim 8). Together these make the three levels of the religion: submission in actions, belief in the heart, and excellence in awareness.
Ihsan is the heart of tazkiya. It means doing everything, prayer, work, speech and dealings, with the awareness that Allah is watching with mercy. It raises the quality of ordinary acts. Allah says: "Indeed Allah is with those who are mindful of Him and those who do good" (16:128).
Practical steps: begin each prayer slowly, try to understand what you say, do your work with care, and imagine that every action is shown to Allah. Ihsan also includes excellence toward people: "Allah has prescribed excellence in everything" (Muslim 1955). Spiritual refinement is built on the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah, with the obligations first; if you feel you need guidance for a particular struggle, speak to a trusted, qualified teacher.
