Unit: Allah, my Creator
Allah created everything that exists: the sky, the earth, the animals, and me. Allah is One.
Salam! Welcome to your very first course.
Look around you. The shining sun. The moon at night. The stars. The trees, the flowers, the rain. The birds, the fish, the cats. Your mum, your dad, and you!
Who made all this? Allah did. Allah is the Creator: He made everything that exists.
Allah says in the Qur'an: اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ Allaahu khaaliqu kulli shay' "Allah is the Creator of all things." (meaning of part of verse 39:62)
Allah is One: there is only one Allah. قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ Qul huwa llaahu aḥad "Say: He is Allah, the One." (112:1)
Allah is not like us. He has no father, no mother, no child (112:3). Nothing is like Him (42:11). We do not see Allah in this world. But Allah sees us, and He takes care of us.
Little activity: with your parent, point to three things Allah created in the room or through the window. Then draw them!
Understanding the lesson
Explanation A house does not build itself: someone has to build it. A drawing does not draw itself: someone has to draw it. The sky, the sea, the animals and the people did not come by themselves either. Allah created them. And no one created Allah: He has always existed. Allah created each thing with care and with great love for us: the sun to keep us warm, the rain to make the fruit grow, eyes to see.
Lessons to draw from it • When I see something beautiful, I think of Allah who created it. • I say thank you to Allah for everything He has given me. • I take care of what Allah created: plants, animals, people.
Key points to remember • Allah is the Creator of all things (39:62). • Allah is One: there is only one Allah (112:1). • Nothing is like Allah (42:11).
The main message Everything I see, Allah created it. Allah is One, and He takes care of me.
