Unit: The work on the self
A daily plan for the soul.
Allah says: "O you who believe, be mindful of Allah, and let every soul look to what it has sent forward for tomorrow" (59:18). Muhasaba is checking your day honestly: what did I do well, where did I fail, and what will I do tomorrow? It was a habit of the early generations.
A simple evening plan: thank Allah for the good you were able to do; recall where you hurt or neglected someone; ask forgiveness (istighfar) and, if needed, repair the wrong; resolve one improvement for tomorrow. Do it in a few minutes, kindly but seriously.
A daily framework that supports it: the five prayers on time; a portion of Qur'an with reflection; morning and evening dhikr; some voluntary prayer at night, when possible; regular charity; and good company. The Prophet ﷺ said that the most beloved deeds to Allah are the regular ones, even if small (Bukhari 6464, Muslim 783). Balance matters: your body and family have rights too (Bukhari 1968). Spiritual refinement is built on the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah, with the obligations first; if you feel you need guidance for a particular struggle, speak to a trusted, qualified teacher.
