اللَّهُ يَرَانِي وَيَسْمَعُنِي

Allah sees everything. He sees the little bird in its nest. He sees the ant walking in the dark. He sees you, right now.

Allah hears everything. He hears when you speak loudly. He hears when you whisper. He even hears what you say to Him in your heart.

Allah says: وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ wa huwa s-samii'u l-baṣiir "And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing." (meaning of part of verse 42:11)

And Allah loves it when you do good! إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ inna llaaha yuḥibbu l-muḥsiniin "Allah loves those who do good." (meaning of part of verse 2:195)

Good deeds that Allah loves: • smiling at someone; • helping mum or dad set the table; • sharing your toy; • saying "thank you" and "please"; • saying a kind word.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "A good word is a charity." (Bukhari 2989, Muslim 1009) A charity is a gift we give for Allah.

Little activity: this evening, tell your parent about one good deed you did today. Allah saw it!

Understanding the lesson

Explanation We cannot see behind a wall, and we cannot hear what is said very far away. But Allah sees and hears everything, everywhere, all the time. Nothing is hidden from Him. That is good news! When you are scared, Allah sees you. When you ask Him for something very quietly, He hears you. You are never alone. And when you do a good deed, even a small one, even if no one sees it, Allah sees it and He loves it. The Prophet ﷺ said that the deeds Allah loves most are the ones we keep doing, even if they are small (Bukhari 6464, Muslim 783 [À VÉRIFIER : numéros]).

Lessons to draw from it • I can talk to Allah very quietly: He always hears me. • I do good even when no one is watching, because Allah sees me. • One small good deed every day is very good.
