الوحدة: الوحي واليوم الآخر والقدر
Allah's knowledge and our responsibility.
Belief in qadar means believing that nothing happens outside Allah's knowledge, writing, will and creation. Scholars describe four levels: 1) His knowledge of everything; 2) His writing of it in the Preserved Tablet (Muslim 2653); 3) His will, so that nothing happens without His permission; 4) His creation of all things (54:49, 37:96).
At the same time, the human being chooses and is responsible. Allah gave us reason and will, and He judges us by our choices (18:29, 99:7-8). When the Companions asked whether they should then rely on what is written, the Prophet ﷺ answered: "Do good deeds; everyone is eased toward what he was created for" (Bukhari 4949, Muslim 2647).
Practical meaning: take the means (study, work, treatment) and then accept the result calmly, because Allah's decree is wise. After a mistake, repent; after a loss, be patient. The schools discuss the philosophical explanation of free will and decree in different ways, but the practical teaching is shared. The mainstream Sunni schools of creed (Athari, Ash'ari, Maturidi) agree on these foundations and differ on some points of method and detail, which this lesson signals without settling.
