شمس (shams) = sun قمر (qamar) = moon نجم (najm) = star ماء (maa') = water شجرة (shajara) = tree زهرة (zahra) = flower سماء (samaa') = sky جبل (jabal) = mountain

Practice: read the list three times, slowly first, then faster, and try to say each word without looking at the meaning. When you look at the sky, say "Subhan Allah": glory to Allah.
