Verse 2:185 and 2:184 give concessions: whoever is ill or on a journey makes up the days later. Hamza al-Aslami asked the Prophet ﷺ about fasting on a journey, and he said: "Fast if you wish, and break the fast if you wish" (Bukhari 1943, Muslim 1121). Women who cannot fast during menstruation or postnatal bleeding make up the days later. For those who cannot fast at all, scholars discuss feeding a poor person for each day. Accepting a concession is not weakness; it is obeying the way Allah has made easy. If you are unsure about your own case, ask a qualified scholar and your doctor.
