Chain, text and the reliability of narrators.
A hadith has two parts: the isnad (the chain of people who passed it on, from teacher to student) and the matn (the text of what was said). Scholars studied each narrator: Was he honest? Did he have a good memory? Did he really meet his teacher? This is why early scholars said that the isnad is part of the religion (reported by Muslim in the introduction to his book).
According to the result, hadiths are classified as sahih (sound), hasan (good) or da'if (weak). The collections of Bukhari and Muslim are known for strict conditions.
So be careful: not every saying attributed to the Prophet ﷺ online is authentic. Check the source and ask qualified scholars. If you have a question or a doubt, talk to a teacher or a parent you trust: asking is part of learning.
