Sacred Citation & SourceThis passage asks a series of questions: who is an army to help you besides the Most Merciful? Who will provide for you if He withholds His provision? (67:20-21). Then it reminds us of what we received: "It is He who created you and made for you hearing, sight and hearts. Little do you give thanks" (67:23). Hearing, sight and hearts are the gates of knowledge; the Qur'an returns to them again and again (16:78). Each one is a trust, and each one will be asked about (17:36). The passage also asks who is better guided: the one bent over on his face, or the one walking upright on a straight path (67:22). Practice today: choose one of your senses, for example your eyes, and decide one thing you will use it for with gratitude, and one thing you will lower it from.
