Sacred Citation & Source"It is He who made the earth manageable for you, so walk in its paths and eat of His provision, and to Him is the resurrection" (67:15). The verse joins effort and trust: walk, work, and eat, but remember that the provision is His. At the end of the passage we are asked to look at the birds above us, "spreading their wings and folding them; none holds them up except the Most Merciful" (67:19). The Prophet ﷺ said: "If you relied on Allah as He deserves, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening" (Tirmidhi 2344). Note that the birds go out. Trust is not sitting still. This passage also contains wording about Allah's relation to the heaven that scholars explain in different ways; we leave that discussion to the lesson on the creed and keep to the practical lesson here. Practice today: make one effort you have delayed, then say "Hasbunallah" and leave the result to Him.
