Nuh (Noah) called his people to worship Allah alone for 950 years, as the Qur'an says (29:14). Only a few believed. His people mocked him, and he continued day and night, in public and in private (71:5-9).
When his people did not change, Allah told him to build the ark. People laughed at him while he built it on dry land (11:38). Then the flood came, and Nuh and the believers were saved on the ark, together with pairs of animals (11:40-44). The rest were drowned.
Lessons: patience in calling to the truth, even when results are slow; the truth is not decided by the number of followers; and Allah saves those who trust Him. Nuh remains an example of perseverance (sabr).
