Unit: Kind to everyone
A thirsty dog and a gentle heart.
The Prophet ﷺ told a story: a man was walking and felt very thirsty. He found a well, went down and drank. Then he saw a dog, panting and licking the wet earth because of thirst. The man said: "This dog is as thirsty as I was." He filled his shoe with water, climbed up and gave the dog a drink. Allah thanked him and forgave him.
The Companions asked: "Is there a reward for us in caring for animals?" He said: "In every living creature there is a reward" (Bukhari 2363, Muslim 2244).
So we give water to a thirsty animal and we never hurt it.
