Unit: The Qur'an
How the Qur'an came to the Prophet ﷺ.
Wahy means revelation: Allah's message sent to His prophets. The Qur'an was revealed to Muhammad ﷺ through the angel Jibril (Gabriel), little by little, over about 23 years, in Makkah then in Madinah.
The first revelation came in the cave of Hira with the words "Iqra, read, in the name of your Lord who created" (96:1-5). Revelation came in answer to events and questions, which helped believers understand and apply it step by step. Allah says that it was sent down in parts "so that We may strengthen your heart" (25:32).
The Qur'an is the word of Allah, not the words of Muhammad ﷺ. It is read, memorised and applied. If you have a question or a doubt, talk to a teacher or a parent you trust: asking is part of learning.
