Unit: The Qur'an
Memorisers, scribes and the first books.
Allah promises: "We have sent down the Reminder and We will protect it" (15:9). The Qur'an was preserved in two ways: in hearts (many Companions memorised it) and in writing (scribes wrote revelation on leather, bones and palm leaves while the Prophet ﷺ was alive).
After the battle of Yamama, Abu Bakr asked Zayd ibn Thabit to gather the written Qur'an in one book (Bukhari 4986). Under Uthman, standard copies were made and sent to the main cities (Bukhari 4987).
Today the Qur'an is the same everywhere, in Arabic, recited by millions of memorisers. This shared chain of recitation is one of the strongest proofs of its preservation. If you have a question or a doubt, talk to a teacher or a parent you trust: asking is part of learning.
